Lukas & Amanda
Our Story
Once upon a time on an island not so far away, there was a German guy and a French-American girl.
Shortly after their paths crossed in Galway, Ireland, they suddenly and for absolutely no reason started to hang out together more and more. For example, one time Lukas found out that Amanda always wanted to play the accordion, and he selflessly offered his services to teach her how to play it. One clear night in April 2014, they shared their first kiss next to the sea underneath a night sky full of stars.
Shortly after their relationship started, Lukas unfortunately moved to Canada to continue his studies while Amanda stayed another year in Ireland. For the next 7-ish years, their relationship continued at a distance, with the exception of one short year they both spend living in France. However, all along Lukas-bear and Amanda-bear were there to help them deal with being apart.
Despite living geographically apart, they were able to not only visit each other regularly, but also were able to experience travelling together to visit new places near and far.
Early in 2020, the pandemic derailed their plans to see each other. As they finally were able to see each other again in November of 2020, after being apart for 10 long months, they didn't want to wait any longer.
In case you're wondering what that symbol above (and at the top of the page) is: That is a Claddagh ring, that is the design of the engagement ring. It is a traditional Irish ring originally from Galway, Ireland (where Lukas and Amanda met). Its design consists of hands (representing friendship) holding a heart (representing love) that wears a crown (representing loyalty).
